LWML Convention 2011 Peoria 2011 is over but our work is not done. Now what will we step to the edge for? Short term mission trip, stretch our financial giving with gifts of mites or more Gifts from the Heart or will you reach out to tell others or a family member who doesn’t know Jesus?
Jesus won the battle over sin and the Devil, and now He sends us out to work for Him. Our work is not over. You don’t have to have been at convention to take the excitement and experience we know, as Christians, to all corners of our world and shout the news that “Jesus is Lord of all”.
There are so many exciting highlights to share: + Adoption of the 2011-2013 mission goal--$1,825,000 + Selection of 19 mission grant proposals + Election of officers— President—Kay Kreklau, North Dakota District VP of Special Focus Ministries—Pat Reichert, South Dakota District VP of Organizational Resources—Carolyn Blum, South Wisconsin District Treasurer—Lois Anderson, Utah-Idaho District Pastoral Counselor—Rev John Heckmann, Texas District + Mission Walk raised $56,806.96 for mites + Offering #1—2011-2013 Mission Goal; $47,388.33 + Offering #2--three Mission Central, Mapleton, Iowa, projects; $37,273.04 + Offering #3—Amigos de Cristo, Sedalia, MO, mission outreach project; $32,172.12 + Offering #4—Specific Ministry Pastor program at both seminaries; $32,078.98 + 6 Zone delegates, 1 Young Woman Representative, 1 pastoral counselor, your District President and approximately 21 others in attendance from the Gulf States District—4,668 total convention attendance + Gift from the Heart—over 30,000 items collected (go to the website for the complete list)
