MISSION GRANTS FOR 2010-2012

 

Totaling $27,000

 

 

1.   Gulf States District Scholarship Fund                              $6,000

       Scholarship Fund to be distributed in the amount of $3,000 per year

       to students in the amount of $1,000 each.

 

2.     LWML Short Term Mission Trip                                         $1,950

       LWML is requesting that each district participate in short term

       mission trips.  This grant will help two to three people from the

       Gulf States District LWML to serve on a mission trip sponsored

       by the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.

 

3.     Feed the Children of the Lutheran Schools in Haiti        $5,000

        Partner with Trinity Lutheran Church, Lebanon, TN and the local people

       to feed an average school of 100 children so they can be fed and FED.

 

4.     LCMS Joint Seminary Fund                                                $5,000

        Seminary student tuition assistance matching grant funding that will

       benefit men preparing for the holy ministry at both seminaries.

 

5.    Playground Equipment for Outreach Mission at Iglesia de la

       Comunidad Church, Huntsville, AL                                   $2,100

        This grant will allow Grace Lutheran Church in Huntsville, AL to purchase

       and install playground equipment on the grounds of Iglesia de la Comunidad

       Church in Huntsville.

 

6.     Training Believers, Greater China                                    $5,000

       This grant will provide Christian resources, training in what the Bible says,

       and workshops that teach preaching and teaching skills for Christian leaders.

 

7.     Deaf Outreach and Leader Training                                $1,950

       Providing workshops, producing materials and purchasing equipment for training

       more deaf leaders to expand the work of the Lutheran Deaf Mission Society will be provided by this grant.
